Our goal is to redefine the parameters of sail design, by combining the positive aspects of contemporary sails with superior handling characteristics, quicker response time, more focus on speed and control. We then integrate these designs with our own distinctive look; modern, stylish, sharp. SEVERNE set out to create the range of sails we always wanted to make. Years of designing around other's constraints gave us the appetite to put together the most refined sails we could imagine. Now there are no boundaries; these are sails for riders who can appreciate performance, quality and true riding ability. These designs are a reflection of our life, our work, and our team; Minimum effort / Maximum effect. It's about thinking smarter, with every input generating massive results. The people behind SEVERNE have come together from around the globe, each with their own unique input but with the common factor of being windsurfers at the cutting edge of performance. Led by Ben Severne, the design team has been hand picked to include sailmakers Jesper Orth and Trent Pedersen. Testing is carried out by these three sail designers, which cuts out the element of interpretation that non-sailing designers traditionally rely on. This fresh approach efficiently streamlines product development when combined with all the feedback from our pro team. Based in Western Australia, our design loft utilizes the latest in CAD / CAM technology. We have access to an incredible variety of local sail testing conditions - the river for light wind and flat water, local beaches for choppy, onshore, real-world testing, and some of the most extreme wavesailing on the planet just a short drive down the coast. We have developed a range of sails that deliver maximum performance for minimal rider effort. With a fresh, new approach to sail design, SEVERNE will challenge current sail perception.
