SEVERNE C2 Twin Cam 6.5 ::

Two cambers in the moderate wide mast sleeve, a flat angle of attack and lots of profile in the boom area with a harmonic transition into the super flat top - that's how the high-performance sail shape presents itself from the Ben Severna.
Like an exceptional light Freerace-sail the C2 Twin Cam lies all the time neutral and calm in the hand and offers some comparison to camber free sails with a huge range of use with maximum performance on all courses - from starting to plane to overpowered. Also in gusty conditions the sail reacts with little side forces, feels still very light and transforms the extra energy into acceleration and forward drive. Only rarely the backhand has to work hard. In comparison to the Neil Pryde Spirit the force gets transferred noticeably more discreet. Who ever gets scared to jibe by so much power is completely mistaken - the C2 camber-unusually shifts playfully, the feared batten crack nearly doesn't happen at all. Almost Severne-typically the reinforcements are pretty sparse, but for a freeride-freerace sail it's allowed to spare some in favour of sail weight.
Bottom line: the Severne appeared to us nearly as a freerace sail, though feeling very light and with a surprisingly goad handling in manoeuvres.
Design brief: Build a twin-cam freeride sail, that is easy to use (rig, gybe, sail) and offers the highest speed and handling possible. Designed for high-speed drag racing, the C2 has a fast, efficient foil profile and a progressive leech twist that gives it an expanded wind range. Stiffer than the NCX, the C2 has a very lively feel, and provides lots of rider feedback. The 2 cams lock the foil into position for total stability when heavily powered, as well as producing more bottom end range. This makes it ideal for both wider freeride boards and older more conventional board styles as well. The C2 lends itself well to the heavier freeride sailor, who demands both low speed drive and extreme high wind stability. With both enhanced upwind and extreme downwind ability the C2 is the pure performance freeride sail in the SEVERNE range.
